Program Details

Features • Week-long, resident program, we pray together, play together and go as groups into our community, “Our Own Backyard,” and help people in local agencies. Young people will follow a program of prayer and preparation, sending forth to serve, and finally, reflection on their daily experiences.

Lodging and Meals • Lodging for Backyard Ministries will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Vancouver WA. Youth will sleep in classrooms. Facilities are simple; youth are instructed to bring comfortable supplements for the floor. Meals and snacks are healthy and plentiful. (Please indicate on registration if you have any special dietary needs.) We ask that participants only bring one duffle bag and come prepared to live simply.

Costs • The program fee for Backyard Ministries is $110 per person by June 22nd 2010, after June 22nd 2010 the fee is $110. This fee includes all program resources, lodging, meals, journal, t-shirt, work supplies and recreational activities. Please contact your Parish leader for scholarship information.
*Please note, if you do decide to pay with a credit card online, there is an extra $3 fee to cover the credit card processing.

Participant Limit • In an effort to keep the program manageable, Backyard Ministries will limit registrations to 100 participants. This size is large enough to accomplish the needs of our local agencies, yet small enough to promote a sense of community.

Registration & Payment Plan • You have two options to register.
1) Click here to register online, fill out the registration form choosing a payment convenient for you. We do allow you to pay online with a credit card through PayPal, but you may also mail us your check, we will still need you to print and sign consent/health form (79K) and the behavior form (68K).
2) Otherwise, please print, fill out, and mail us the forms within the Registration Packet (1,904K) and the Backyard Flyer (565K), located online on the downloads page. Talk with your Parish leader about bringing the forms to your parish, or you may mail your forms to:
